ABOUT JAMES
James is an Australian Commonwealth Scholar at the Royal College of Music, studying with BBC Symphony Orchestra Principal Clarinet, Richard Hosford and Eb Clarinet with RCM’s Head of Woodwind, Marie Lloyd. Prior to moving to London, James attended Trinity College, where he was College Captain and the 2024 College Dux. James received a 2024 Governor of South Australia SACE Commendation Excellence Award and the 2024 SACE Don Maynard Music Prize. James achieved his L.Mus.A (Clarinet) & A.Mus.A (Piano – studying with Monika Laczofy OAM), with Distinction at the age of 16 and won the 2023 AMEB Licentiate Prize. James won the Music Teachers Association of South Australia Grace Barbara Turner Award for Excellence in Performance in 2022, 2023 & 2024 and won the Wind Division in the 2022, 2023 & 2024 5MBS Young Virtuoso Awards. James performs regularly for Recitals Australia, winning the Berenice Harrison Award in the Autumn Series Final in 2022, 2023 and 2024. James was awarded the “Most Promising Wind Player” prize at the 2024 Australian Concerto & Vocal Competition in Townsville, QLD. In 2024 and 2025 James participated in the Australian Youth Orchestra National Music Camp. Since moving to London in September 2025, James has performed in the RCM Philharmonic Orchestra, has taken part in masterclasses with visiting and RCM Professors and is a founding member of the London based wind quintet, Aeolus Winds. ABOUT JAMIE COCK
Jamie Cock began piano lessons aged 14, completing an Honours Degree in Piano Performance at the Elder Conservatorium before further postgraduate study at the Martinů Academy in Prague and the Musikhochschule Freiburg.
Jamie has presented concerts in over fifteen countries, and was employed as staff accompanist to the cello class of Raphael Wallfisch at the Musikhochschule Zurich/Winterthur. He is an established and experienced chamber musician, accompanist, teacher, instrumental and vocal coach. He has performed with the Adelaide and Sydney Symphony Orchestras, for Recitals Australia, Ukaria, the Adelaide Festival, Melbourne and Adelaide Fringe Festivals, live broadcasts on ABC Classic FM and Southwest Radio Germany, and in collaborations with the State Opera of South Australia, Adelaide Chamber Singers, new music collective The Firm, and the State Theatre Company (among others).
