Recitals Australia is an Adelaide-based non profit organisation that provides performance opportunities, support and educational incentives for talented emerging South Australian musicians (or South Australians who are temporarily residing interstate or overseas). We also produce concerts featuring Virtuosi artists in various venues, usually tied to educational opportunities such as master classes.
We also offer grants, support, Fellowships in concert with educational and other institutions, and promotional and educational opportunities through our programs.
Governance of the organisation is by a volunteer Council, which includes professional musicians. The council works tirelessly to both manage and fund raise for the organisation and enable student participation. The current President is Mark de Raad.
Recitals Australia plays a special role in the musical life of Adelaide by annually providing over 100 performance opportunities for artists of all ages and levels. The youngest are able to participate in our Junior Series. More experienced students and semi-professional artists and professionals seeking additional opportunities are included in the Lunch Hour Series each Wednesday.
When opportunities arise, Recitals Australia also holds the Virtuosi Series of concerts that showcase a range of professional national and international performers with master class opportunities for our emerging students.
Recitals Australia is unique in its ability to provide an unequalled opportunity for students to experience public performance without significant financial burden. The Council’s tradition of fostering South Australian musical talent is dependent on both community and corporate support. All profits are used to provide fellowships and promotion for young local talent and to bring national and international artists to the Adelaide stage.
