ABOUT RUBY
Ruby is 14 years old violinist who began studying violin when she was 6 years old. She obtained her AMEB Certificate of Violin in 2022 and currently preparing for AMEB Associate Diploma (AMusA) later this year under the tutelage of Keith Crellin. Ruby has won several awards at the Adelaide Eisteddfod, including the Adele Anthony Award which is given to the most promising violinist 14 years and under, and also won the 1st Prize in the junior concerto section in 2023.
She is the member of the Australian Youth Orchestra and Adelaide Youth Orchestra. Also, she enjoys to play in her school ensembles.
Ruby loves to connecting with people through her music. When Ruby is not performing, she enjoys playing with her dog and doing origami.
ABOUT SIMÓN
Simón Pazos Quintana is a classical pianist, accompanist, and teacher. He obtained his Bachelor of Music with First Class Honours at the Elder Conservatorium of Music under the tutelage of Professor Stefan Ammer. In 2018, Simón was the recipient of the Peter Schodde Memorial Piano Scholarship, and was a finalist in both the 2019 and 2021 Geoffrey Parsons Award for piano accompaniment. Simón performed alongside William Hennessy AM and the Adelaide Hills Chamber Players as part of their 2023 Summer Season concerts. He is currently completing his PhD, centred around the works for solo piano by Aleksandr Mosolov.
ABOUT ZIQI (ELLA)
Ziqi (Ella) Cheng is 11 years old. She commenced piano at the age of four. Ziqi was awarded Second Prize in The Great Composer competition – the Best Mozart Performance in 2022. She also won several prizes in the Adelaide Eisteddfod piano competition including The Dulcie Holland Medallion Award. Ziqi currently studies piano with Monika Laczofy OAM, who is providing her with full support and assistance during her piano journey.
Ziqi also plays violin with the Adelaide Youth Orchestra (Sinfonia), School Orchestra and School String Trio Ensemble. She won several prizes in the Adelaide Eisteddfod Strings competitions, including First prize for 12 years and under Section and Second prize for Grade 7/8 Section in 2023.
