ABOUT JANE
Jane has performed on historical oboes with the Australian Romantic and Classical Orchestra, Oxford Bach Soloists, Instruments of Time & Truth, Oslo Barokkorkester, Academy of Ancient Music, English Baroque Soloists, Pinchgut Opera, Canberra Bach Ensemble, and Adelaide Baroque. She has appeared at the Innsbruck Early Music Festival, Valletta Baroque Festival (Malta), New England Bach Festival, Canberra International Music Festival, and Organs of the Ballarat Goldfields. Jane has attended 19th-century Historically Informed Performance courses held at Oxford University’s Music Faculty and Huddersfield University as a professional participant, and has worked as a specialist instrumental examiner. She is programme-note writer for the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong, and contributes reviews and articles to music forums. As Artistic Director of Austral Harmony, Jane fulfils a regular circuit of recitals, lectures & classes.
ABOUT DAVID
David Macfarlane is an organist, harpsichordist and conductor who is on the staff of the University of Melbourne and Newman College. He regularly performs in Australia and in Europe as a soloist and as an expert in continuo performance, and has played with Ludovico’s Band, La Campagna, the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra Virtuosi, the Australian Chamber Choir, Orchestra Victoria, the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Choir, Gloriana, and the Newman College Choir. He has been the Director of Music at St Michael’s Uniting Church, Collins St, Melbourne and All Saints’ Anglican Church, East St Kilda, where he was recognised for his development of the only parish church choir in Australia with a traditional English cathedral all-male choir. David is a graduate of the University of Sydney and the Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst, Wien.
