ABOUT Ariel
Ariel is a Year 6 multi-instrument player. She plays piano, violin, viola, clarinet, saxophone and is trained in classical singing. She has been learning piano under the tutelage of Yong Cheong Lye since 2020. Ariel is also a Junior string member in Adelaide Youth Orchestras and plays violin in the Emmaus Junior Chamber Ensemble, Senior Chamber Ensemble and Emmaus strings Ensemble. She regularly competes and has won several prizes in the Adelaide Eisteddfod. Ariel wants to be a conductor when she gets older and brings the music to the community.
ABOUT Liam

Liam Kang is passionate about music and enjoys playing a range of instruments such as alto saxophone, to piano, drums and percussion. He started learning piano at 5 years old. By 6 years of age, he wanted to learn the baritone saxophone after watching Leo P on YouTube but the only size that just fit him alto saxophone which he fell in love ever since. Currently a Year 8 Pembroke student, he has music scholarship through their prestigious music program. He contributed immensely at Pembroke’s music ensembles such as saxophone ensemble, Big Band, Concert Band, rock band and percussion ensemble, as well as being invited to perform on showcases and playing solo on grandparents’ day and graduation day. He was an ex-member of Burnside Youth Concert band, often performing at fund raising events and council ceremonies. He participates in woodwind Eisteddfod competitions, winning 1st prizes multiple times. He is currently training for an AMEB certificate of performance exam with his teacher, Don Whiffen and has recently been invited to perform at 2025 AMEB Music Showcase at Elder Hall to perform his piece, Hot Sonata by Erwin Schulhoff. During his free time, he enjoys spending time his family, playing basketball, table tennis, swimming and catching up with friends.
ABOUT Simón
Simón Pazos Quintana is a classical pianist, accompanist and teacher. He obtained his Bachelor of Music with First Class Honours at the Elder Conservatorium of Music in Adelaide, under the tutelage of Professor Stefan Ammer. In 2018, Simón performed Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto with the Elder Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of maestro James Lowe. Later that year, Simón was the recipient of the Peter Schodde Memorial Piano Scholarship, which allowed him to travel throughout Germany, Austria and England, playing for highly respected professors to further his technical abilities and musicianship.
Upon his return to Adelaide, Simón was a finalist in both the 2019 and the 2021 Geoffrey Parsons Award for piano accompaniment. Most recently, he has performed alongside William Hennessy AM and the Adelaide Hills Chamber Players as part of their 2023 Summer Season concerts. Simón has completed his PhD at the Elder Conservatorium, centred around the works for solo piano by composer Aleksandr Mosolov.
