ABOUT Emily

Emily Yang, 14, is a year 8 student at Westminster School. She began studying at the age of five and has been a student of Monika Laczofy OAM for the past five years. In 2023, she was awarded Ethel Cooper Scholarship for piano study at the Elder Conservatorium of Music and In 2024 Emily achieved the AMEB Certificate of Performance with Honours. She has also received multiple prizes in the Adelaide Eisteddfod across both piano and string sections
In addition to her piano studies, Emily has studied violin for six years and has started learning the clarinet this year. She is an active participant in Westminster’s musical ensembles, including the Senior Strings, Senior Concert Band, and Choir.
Emily started accompanying her sister 2 years ago, and by developing her collaborative skills, she’s now regularly accompanying fellow students on the piano. Outside of music, Emily enjoys tennis, reading, movies, video games and cycling.
ABOUT ANI
The trio was formed in early 2025 at St.Andrew’s School and is coached by Ms Veronica Ryan and Ms Monika Laczofy. Ivan is a versatile musician who has achieved AMEB Grade 8 on piano under Mr. Wayne Hancock. He also performs as a violinist, vocalist, and in musical theatre. Anna studies violin at AMEB Grade 8 with Ms Alison Heike; a section leader at South Australian Music Camp, she has performed with Adelaide Youth Strings and the St Andrew’s Senior String Orchestra. Nicole began cello at six with Mr Joseph Freer; she also studies piano with Ms Monika Laczofy and percussion with Mr Andrew Chan, performs with ADYO and most school ensembles, and is praised for secure technique and mature musicianship. The ANI TRIO won Second Prize at the 2025 Adelaide Eisteddfod (U18 Chamber Group) and is noted for balance, tight ensemble, and natural on-stage chemistry.
