ABOUT JAMES
James Logan is a lutenist from Adelaide, South Australia. He studies under the direction of Tim Kersten in Adelaide and has studied with Jacob Heringman in Yorkshire, and specialises in repertoire from Britain and the continent during the 16th and early 17th centuries. James has played in period ensembles under the direction of Peter Holman, Rachael Beesley and Rob Nairn, as well as playing contemporary/folk music with theatre groups Butterfly Theatre and Shakespeare South Australia.
More recently, James was studying abroad in Leeds under supervision from the scholar of The Purcell Society, Dr. Bryan White, which gave him a taste for musicological work – digging deep into the music and culture of late 17th century London.
He is currently back in Adelaide completing his final year as a Bachelor of Music student.
