Music has the power to transport us to a myriad of fantastical places. Be it a salon in 1730s London, a provincial German court, a bustling post-Napoleon Vienna, or the far-off lands of suburban Melbourne. Through the lens of the cello we visit the unique worlds of Geminiani, Bach and Beethoven, before concluding with a whimsical new work by Jack Overall.

A celebration of music by George Crumb
Esmond had participated in PianoLab performing George Crumb’s Eine Kleine Mitternachtmusik and received a review from Limelight saying “…Choi’s captivating performance was a revelation…”.

Colours, Sounds and Senses
Haowei Yang (Classical Piano) and Paula Custodio (Classical Flute) will be performing a selection of French repertoire by composers such as Debussy, Ravel and Dutilleux for solo piano and flute and piano. Their performance of these pieces will be aided by light and visual projections that draw the audience into the atmosphere and colours created by the music.
Katelyn Crawford, voice

Katelyn Crawford (classical voice) and Haowei Yang (classical piano) are recent honours graduates of the Elder Conservatorium of Music, and are currently participating in the Recitals Australia Fellowship Program in collaboration with the Elder Conservatorium. They will be performing ‘Art Songs and Arias from Around the World’, by composers such as Mozart, Fauré, Schumann and Barber.

Gemma Vice, a flautist from Adelaide, marks her debut at the fringe festival with an evening that showcases the forefront of contemporary flute repertoire. In addition, Associate artist Joyce Kwok will join forces for a captivating collaboration, blending the tones of the flute and the resonance of the harp in an arrangement of Piazolla’s History of the Tango.
